Johan Wiklund is founder and main inventor and has been working with the INCIPIENTUS technology for more than 15 years. He received his Ph.D. degree from Lund University, of Technology, Lund, in 2007 and the M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees in chemical engineering from Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, in 2002 and 1998 . He is a Member of the Scientific Committee of the International Symposium on Ultrasonic Doppler Methods for Fluid Mechanics and Fluid Engineering and received the Nordic Society of Rheology Young Scientist Rheology Award for Excellence in 2006 for the development of the Flow-Viz technology. Since 2009, he has been working full time on the in-line fluids characterization system development project that has resulted in the formation of INCIPIENTUS ULTRASOUND FLOW TECHNOLOGIES AB. He is the author of two book chapters and has authored many scientific journal papers and articles.

His research interests include advanced R&D projects in ultrasound sensor development, Doppler ultrasound electronics, signal processing, fluid dynamics and rheology with the aim to overcome technology road-blocks, and value-adding to existing academic and industrial client projects and applications through technology transfer and commercialization.

Reinhardt Kotzé is founder and inventor and he received the DTech degree in electrical engineering from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT), South Africa, in 2012. He has been working in the field of Pulsed Ultrasound Velocimetry for fluid engineering applications for the past ten years. Reinhardt is a member of the Scientific Committee of the International Symposium on Ultrasonic Doppler Methods for Fluid Mechanics and Fluid Engineering. His research interests include developing novel algorithms and techniques for complex fluid behavior monitoring as well as technology transfer / commercialization. Reinhardt is now based in Gothenburg, Sweden working with Incipientus development projects and production.



Michal Kotzé received his M.Tech degree in electical engineering from the Capen Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT), South Africa in xx. Michal has closely followed the Flow-Viz development project over several years and joined RISE in 2015. Michal is working as an electrical engineer with product and technology development, manufacturing, customer installations and training, technical support, sales and marketing .

Anders Ösund is Vice President Business Development & Head of Tech Transfer Office at RISE, with special focus on spin-out operations, Tech Trade.


The goal is to improve the process of utilizing business ideas developed primarily within the RISE group, but also by university / university / business partners. Commercialization can take place in different variations, such as ideas, licenses, patents, development projects, start-up companies / seed companies, test and demonstration plants. Spin-outs should primarily be based on business ideas that are commercially beneficial and where a business plan shows that they will develop faster outside the research institutes.


Anders Ösund has long experience of investing in and developing growth companies. He comes last from Investor Growth Capital and is today, for example, on the board of Tobii AB and Memira AB.
